2020년 7월 발매된 데뷔 앨범 [SOUNDBWOY]의 발매 이후 디제이 코커 (DJ co.kr)는 꾸준히 서울 클럽씬과 월드뮤직을 연결하려는 움직임을 보여왔다. 또한 최근 글로벌 디제이 채널 ‘Boiler Room’에 두 번째 출연하며 당시 미발매 곡들이었던 본 앨범, [SOUNDBWOY 2]의 힌트를 공개했다.
그의 리듬에는 댄스 음악의 수많은 하위 장르들이 혼재되어 있으며, 대표적으로 남아공으로부터 탄생한 아마피아노 (Amapiano) 특유의 베이스와 UK Bass / UK Funky의 재조합을 본 앨범, [SOUNDBWOY 2]에서 찾아볼 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라 전설적인 그라임 크루 롤 딥 (Roll Deep) 리코 단(Riko Dan)과 호흡을 자랑하는 선공개 싱글이자 수록곡 ‘Rude Bwoy Ting’은 그의 데뷔 타이틀 ‘Soundbwoy Rudebwoy’에서 보여주었던 둘의 조합의 연장선에 있는 듯한 인상으로 주목할 만하다. 최근 ‘COLORS’에 출연하기도 했던 가나와 영국 기반의 뮤지션 Bryte와의 합작 ‘Brrrrr’는 역동적인 베이스를 보유한 UK Funky 트랙으로, 영국을 배경으로 한 해당 곡의 뮤직비디오 역시 확인해 볼 수 있다.
After the release of his debut album, [SOUNDBWOY] in July 2020, DJ co.kr has consistently shown his commitment to bridging the Seoul club scene with the global music scene. Recently, he has made his second appearance on 'Boiler Room,' giving a hint to his upcoming album, [SOUNDBWOY 2], which featured unreleased tracks at the time.
His rhythms are a blend of numerous sub-genres of dance music. In this album, [SOUNDBWOY 2], you can find a fusion of the distinctive basslines of Amapiano and the recombination of UK Bass/UK Funky. Additionally, his pre-release single, "Rude Bwoy Ting," features the legendary grime crew Roll Deep's artist, Riko Dan, continuing the impressive collaboration from his debut title track, ‘Soundbwoy Rudebwoy’.
