It won't be easy you'll think it strange when I try to explain how I feel that I still need your love after all that I've done You won't believe me all you willsee is a girl you once knew although she's dressed up to the nines at sixes and sevens with you I had to let it happen, I had to change couldn't stay all my life down at heel looking out of the window staying out of the sun so I chose freedom running around, trying everything new but nothing impressed me at all I never expected it to don't cry for me argentina the truth is I never left you all through my wild days my mad existence I kept my promise don't keep your distance and as for fortune, and as for fame I never invited them in though it seemed to the world they were all I desired they are illusions they are not the solutions they promised to be the answer was here all the time I love you and hope you love me don't cry for me argentina the truth is I never left you all through my wild days my mad existence I kept my promise don't keep your distance Have I said too much? there's nothing more I can think of to say to you but all you have to do is looking at me to know that every word is true

What goes up must come down
Spinning Wheel got to go 'round Talkin' 'bout your troubles It's a cryin' sin Ride a painted pony Let the Spinning Wheel spin You got no money, you got no home Spinning Wheel all alone Talkin' 'bout your troubles and you You never learn Ride a painted pony Let the Spinning Wheel turn Did you find your directing sign On the straight and narrow highway Would you mind a reflecting sign? Just let it shine within your mind And show you the colors that are real Someone is waiting just for you Spinning Wheel spinning true Drop all you troubles by the river side |

You're not a dream
You're not an angel, you're a man I'm not a queen, I'm a woman Take my hand, we'll make a space In the lives that we planned And here we'll stay Until it's time for you to go Yes, we're diff'rent, worlds apart We're not the same We laughed and played At the start Like in a game You could have stayed Outside my heart But in you came And here we'll stay Until it's time for you to go Don't ask why Don't ask how Don't ask forever love me Love me, love me now This love of mine Had no beginning It has no end I was an oak Now I'm a willow, now I can bend And though I'll never in my life See you again, still I'll stay Until it's time for you to go Don't ask why of me Don't ask how of me Don't ask forever of me Love me, love me now You're not a dream You're not an angel you're a man I'm not a queen, I'm a woman Take my hand, we'll make a space In the lives that we planned And here we'll stay Until it's time for you to go |

Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover Something in the way she woos me I don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how Somewhere in the smile she knows That I don't need no other lover Something in her style that shows me I don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how You're asking me will my love grow I don't know, I don't know You stick around and it may show I don't know, I don't know Something in the way she knows All I have to do is think of her Something in the things she shows me I don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how (Thank you very much) |

Diamond Are Forever
Diamonds are forever, They are all I need to please me, They can stimulate and tease me, They won't leave in the night, I've no fear that they might desert me. Diamonds are forever, Hold one up and then caress it, Touch it, stroke it and undress it, I can see ev'ry part, Nothing hides in the heart to hurt me. I don't need love, For what good will love do me? Diamonds never lie to me, For when love's gone, They'll lustre on. Diamonds are forever, Sparkling round my little finger. Unlike men, the diamonds linger; Men are mere mortals who Are not worth going to your grave for. I don't need love, For what good will love do me? Diamonds never lie to me, For when love's gone, They'll lustre on. Diamonds are forever, forever, forever. Diamonds are forever, forever, forever. Forever and ever. |

Killing Me Softly With His SongRoberta FlackStrumming my pain with his fingers, singing my life with his words, killing me softly with his song, killing me softly with his song, telling my whole life with his words, killing me softly with his songI heard he sang a good song, I heard he had a style. And so I came to see him to listen for a while. And there he was this young boy, a stranger to my eyes.I felt all flushed with fever, embarrassed by the crowd,I felt he found my letters and read each one out loud.I prayed that he would finish but he just kept right on.He sang as if he knew me in all my dark despairand then he looked right through me as if I wasn't there. But he just came to singing, singing clear and strong.

Yesterday When I Was Young
Herbert Kretzmer Yesterday when I was young the taste of life was sweet as rain upon my tongue. I teased at life as if it were a foolish g ame, the way the evening breeze may tease a candle fl ame. The thousand dreams I dreamed, the splendid things I planned I always built alas on weak and shifting sand. I lived by night and shunned the naked light of the day and only now I see how the years ran away. Yesterday when I was young so many drinking songs were waiting to be sung, so many wayward pleasures lay in store for me and so much pain my dazzled eyes refused to see. I ran so fast that time and youth at last ran out, I never stopped to think what life was all about and every conversation I can now recall concerned itself with me and nothing else at all. Yesterday the moon was blue and every crazy day brought something new to do. I used my magic age as if itwere a wand and never saw the waste and emptiness beyond. The g ame of love I played with arrogance and pride and every flame I lit too quickly quickly died. The friedns I made all seemed somehow to drift away and only I am left on stage to end the play. There are so many songs in me that won't be sung, I feel the bitter taste of tears upon my tongue. The time has come for me to pay for yesterday when I was young. |
