INTRODUCTION
2007년 헤비메틀씬의 대표 주자 Shadows Fall의 메이져 데뷰작 신-익스트림 메틀의 명확하고도 강렬한 폭풍우! 올드 스쿨 헤비메틀의 숙성된 고급 사운드, 또한 정열적이고 섬세한 엣지메틀의 최고 작품. 이 작품으로 Shadows Fall은 보다 큰 존재로 등극한다! 말로만 한국에 오고 싶다! 가 아닌 실제로 헤비메틀 정신에 입각한 도전정신! 가장 잘 나갈때 내한 공연을 이루어 냈던 추진력!
드디어 나왔다. 2004년 The War Within 앨범에 이은 , 2007년 가장 기대되는 신보로 주목받은 Shadows Fall의 메이져 데뷰작 Threads of Life! 한국에서만, 그들을 신인 시절부터 발굴해 서포트 해준 레이블 DOPE 와의 의리를 지키고 싶다며 Atlantic/Warner와 계약하지 않았다. 엄청난 예산과 후보곡들로부터, 11곡만을 엄선하여 선정된 Threads of Life는 Foo Fighters.Rush의 프로듀서 Nick Raskulinecz와 시작 되었다. 소박하지만, 엄청난 계획인 "훌륭한 헤비메틀 음반" 제작 프로젝트는 2006년 여름부터 본격화 되었으며, 그것을 위해 투어중 모았던 모든 리프와 멜로디를 테이블 위해 올렸다. 이번 작품을 위해 Shadows Fall은 크게 3가지 필요 조건을 염두에 두었다고 하는데 그건 바로 작곡력. 연주 . 프로덕션이었다. 헤비한 리프를 바탕으로 하지만 무조건 달리는 음악보다는, 메세지 전달과 감동을 받을수 있는 소중한 레코드를 위한 작곡작업이 이루어졌으며, 이미 연주면에서 최절정의 기량으로 인정받는 이들에게 특별한 주문은 없었다.
메틀코어 사운드도 유효기간 종료와 함께 , 따라하는 밴드들이 사라져가는 시점 에서 그 메틀코어를 주도 했던 Shadows Fall의 신작은 또 다른 헤비메틀 사운드의 방향이자 ICON이다. ....  ....
