SANCTUARY레이블이 선보이는 BEST REGGAE ARTISTS 시리즈 제 5탄! 지난 2006년 5월 25일 심장마비로 사망한 자마이카 킹스톤태생의 스카/레게 뮤지션 DESMOND DEKKER의 하이라이트를 모은 [REGGAE LEGENDS]레게사운드의 아이콘 TROJAN RECORDS에서 69년 오피셜 정규앨범 [THIS IS DESMOND DEK KAR]로 데뷰한이래 93년도까지 총 6장의 앨범을 발표했던 그는 여타 팜레게를 추구했던 뮤지션들과 달리 월드레게에 초첨을 둔 음악세계를 보여줬다. 이 앨범에는 69년 그가 발표했던 두번째 앨범 타이틀곡으로 미국시장에 자신의 존재를 알렸던 "ISRAELITES"를 비롯, 67년 그의 첫 싱글 "007 "SHANTY TOWN"" 69년 그가 이끄는 그룹 THE ACES와 녹음했던 싱글 "A LT MEK" 밥 말리 초창기때의 빈티지 레게사운드에서 느낄 수 있는 "KING OF SKA"등 총 20곡 수록 ....  ....
