Down a cold and darkened hallway
A doctor stood alone With a young and frightened father Who knew something was wrong He said, Son this isn't easy But we really need to talk So he put his arm around him And they began to walk He said your wife is finally sleeping She just needs to be alone right now And your baby, well she's healthy But there's something you should know Son, she's slightly less than perfect And there's nothing we could do So before you go to see her I thought I'd talk to you As the young man held the warm And sleeping bundle to his chest He saw the imperfections And although he tried his best He couldn't stop the tears from falling As he held his little girl And in a low and trembling voice He gently said these words You're beautiful in every way, so beautiful How I've waited for this day If the world was offered to me I just couldn't make the trade Cause you're beautiful When I think of how I've fallen And all the times I've tried To hide my imperfections From my Father's eyes There's a voice that still is calling Deep inside of me And I can always hear it When I get on my knees You're beautiful in every way, so beautiful How I've waited for this day When the world was offered to me I just couldn't make the trade Cause you're beautiful You'd be amazed at how some things matter And some things don't When you're seen through The eyes of God Though we try to hide our darkness And fill our dreams He only sees what's in your heart And you're beautiful, in every way So beautiful How I've waited for this day When the world was offered to me I just couldn't make the trade Cause you're beautiful I know God knows, you're beautiful You're beautiful You're beautiful You're beautiful |

I say I will, but then I won't
Say I do, but then I don't It happens every day I hate the sinner, love the sin It's a sorry state I'm in I've got to get away Every time I throw that stone The fate I'm sealing is my own You know how much I need Forgiveness, forgiveness I can't live without Forgiveness, forgiveness That's what love's about Forgiveness I say forgive and then forget But I ain't learned to do it yet You'd think I'd know by now I know how to hurt someone Been on both sides of that gun Pulled the trigger anyhow When I'm hurting someone else I only hurt myself I've got to let it go Forgiveness, forgiveness I can't live without Forgiveness, forgiveness That's what love's about Forgiveness A thousand wrongs don't make a right Just nobody wins When the bridges start burning Can't you hear my cry? Forgiveness, forgiveness I can't live without Forgiveness, forgiveness That's what love's about Forgiveness, forgiveness I can't live without Forgiveness, forgiveness That's what love's about Forgiveness, forgiveness Forgiveness, forgiveness |

There's two things I know for sure:
She was sent here from heaven and she's daddy's little girl. As I drop to my knees by her bed at night She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes and I thank god for all of the joy in my life Oh, but most of all For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer; sticking little white flowers all up in her hair; "Walk beside the pony, Daddy, it's my first ride." "I know the cake looks funny, Daddy, but I sure tried." Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must have done something right To deserve a hug every morning And butterfly kisses at night. Sweet 16 today She's looking like her mama a little more everyday One part woman, the other part girl. To perfume and make-up from ribbons and curls Trying her wings out in a great big world. But I remember..... Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer; sticking little white flowers all up in her hair. "You know how much I love you, Daddy, But if you don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time." Oh with all that I've done wrong I must have done something right to deserve her love every morning and butterfly kisses at night. All the precious time Like the wind, the years go by. Precious butterfly. Spread your wings and fly. She'll change her name today. She'll make a promise and I'll give her away. Standing in the bride-room just staring at her. She asked me what I'm thinking and I said "I'm not sure-I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl." She leaned over Gave me butterfly kisses with her mama there, Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair "Walk me down the aisle, Daddy-it's just about time." "Does my wedding gown look pretty, Daddy? Daddy, don't cry" Oh, with all that I've done wrong I must have done something right. To deserve her love every morning and butterfly kisses I couldn't ask God for more, man this is what love is. I know I gotta let her go, but I'll always remember Every hug in the morning and butterfly kisses... |

You should know me by now.
I've always been straight with you. I've always tried to sing about the truth the way I see it, In a mixed up world where truth is hard to find. I ain't no spiritual superman. Don't always give a shiny, bright example of what a believer ought to be. I ain't never parted the ocean, though I really think I could if I had the faith of a mustard seed, like the Bible says I should. I ain't never moved a mountain, I ain't never felt that need. But the one thing God has tought me to see... I can have faith A mountain of hope I can even speak with tongues of angels Tell you everyting I know But it doesn't mean a thing in this world Without a mighty love I can be strong I can stand tall I can point squarely at the mountain And command that it be gone But it doesn't mean a thing in this world Without a mighty love I ain't standin' no mount. I'm not tryin' to preach to ya and tell you that I've found all the easy answers. when half the time I can't even find my keys. But I feel like a regular Billy Graham when I start talkin' bout my Jesus, and all that he's done for me. Don't you know that I've received forgiveness through no effort of my own. I've been given so much mercy, so I'll be the last to throw a stone. And I apologize, if you think that I'm coming on too strong. But there's just one thing I want you to know... |

I feel your touch,
I can feel your heart As I'm lying here alone in the dark I hear your voice gently say "come to me' I long for your love as the earth longs for the rainfall I'm weary Lord I've wandered this desert too long CHORUS So come Living Water flow through me like a river My heart's been thirsting so long Flood through my soul and pour out your mercy Come Living Water fill me Lord so many times you've called my name And I've turned my face the other way Yet before I even saw the womb you loved me How can I be so blind when I alone have created my darkness Forgive me and wash me clean again. |

He was a rock He was the one that she ran to And when he said the words "Forever" She knew that it was true He wasn't a saint But he was saint enough for her He was a man, A man of his word. In the final days of summer, 1964, found a family undivided, divided on the war. Turning son against his elder, debating wrong and right, He was the image of his father, though they would not see eye to eye, still... He was a rock He was the one the boy ran to Cause' when he said the word "I Love You" He knew that it was true And even in the worst of storms There was an anchor in his world He was a man, A man of his word. Clutching a strong belief in the bible, through all the sweetness in his life, and the bitterness of war, He knew what God had made him for... In the final days of summer, 1994, surrounded by his family and the presence of the Lord. He set out to find his future, the one he'd always known, He didn't want to leave his family, but he knew deep in his soul, The lord had called him home... cause... He was the rock He was the one the man ran to And when he said the words "forever" He knew that it was true He wasn't a saint he is the one the saints bow to Receiving a man, A man of his word... He was the one that I ran to Cause when he says the word "forever" I know his word is true He isn't a saint He is the one the saints bow to Come to teh man The man of his word. |
