'YB' [Stay Alive (with the London Symphony Orchestra)]
이번스페셜싱글은 지난 2009년 발매한 8집 [공존]에 수록되었던 'Stay Alive'의 오케스트라 버전. 'Stay Alive'는 2010년 EP [YB vs RRM]에도 일렉트로닉 편곡 버전이 수록되는 등 꾸준히 사랑받고 있는 YB의 대표곡으로,
이번 싱글에서는 세계 최정상 오케스트라인 '런던 심포니 오케스트라'가 함께했다.
YB는 작년 12월 비틀즈의 메인 프로듀서 조지 마틴 경(Sir George Martin)이 창립한 에어 스튜디오(Air Studio)에서 41인조 런던 심포니 오케스트라와 'Stay Alive'의 오케스트라 버전 녹음을 마쳤다. 스트링 편곡은 일본 최고의 보컬리스트 타마키코지의 30주년 기념 오케스트라 공연 편곡 작업을 했던 야마시타코우스케가 맡았으며, 믹싱, 마스터링과 엔지니어링은 스팅, 라디오헤드 등 레전드뮤지션들과 함께 작업한 조프 포스터(Geoff Foster)가 맡았다.
YB의 'Stay Alive'는 41인조 오케스트라와 함께 하면서 더욱 깊이 있고 웅장한 록 넘버로 다시 태어났다. 이번 스페셜싱글에는 ‘Stay Alive’의 오케스트레이션 버전과 함께 사이키델릭 펑크 넘버‘Talk To Me’가 수록됐다. 8집 앨범 [공존]에 ‘Stay Alive’와 나란히 수록되었던 ‘Talk To Me’ 역시 영어 가사로 새롭게 녹음되었으며, 사회적 소통이 이루어지지 않고 있는 온라인 문화를 공격하는 사회적 메시지가 담겼다. ....
