작곡가이자 피아노, 바순 연주자인 Bill Douglas는
1944년 카나다 태생으로서 4세에 피아노를 배우고
8세에 작곡을 시작했으며 13세에 바순 연주를 시작했다.

그는 뛰어난 음악성을 지님과 동시에 결코 귀와 마음을
어지럽히지 않는 편안함과 감동을 동시에 선사해주는
자연친화적인 음악가라고 일컫는다.

그의 음악이 장르나 감상자의 취향에 구애받지 않고
폭넓게 사랑 받고 있는 가장 큰 이유는 탄탄하게 짜여진
곡의 구조와 설득력 있는 선율들, 거기에 더해지는 바순,
클라리넷, 오보에와 같은 목관악기의 절묘한 배치를 통해
순수와 아름다운 세계를 그려 내고 있기 때문일 것이다.

또한, 그의 음악에는 숲, 바람, 비, 달 등 자연을
소재로 한 작품이 많기도 하지만 평화나 기도와 같은
무형의 테마를 지닌 음악들도 선보이고 있다.
