Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death. Faith of our fathers, we will strive To win all nations unto Thee; And through the truth that comes from God, We all shall then be truly free. Refrain Faith of our fathers, we will love Both friend and foe in all our strife; And preach Thee, too, as love knows how By kindly words and virtuous life. Refrain NOTE: Reflecting Faber’s Catholic roots, the original third stanza was: Faith of our fathers, Mary’s prayers Shall win our country back to Thee; And through the truth that comes from God, England shall then indeed be free. |

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style. In the air there's a feeling of Christmas. Children laughing, people passing, Metting smile after smile, And on every street corner you hear: Silver bells, silver bells, It's Christmas time in the city. Ring a ling, hear hem ring, Soon it will be Christhmas Day. Strings of street lights, even stop lights, blink a bight red and green, As the shoppers rush home with their treasures. Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch, This is Santa's big scene. And above all this bustle you hear. |

Like a hot rasie. All of the other reindeer Used to laugh and call him names (Rudolph is a red nose They never let poor Rudolph Join in any reindeer games.) Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say: "Hey Rudolph, I say Rudolph, with your nose so bright, won't you guide my sleigh tonight?" from Henry & June (북회귀선) by Mark Adler [ost] (1990)
It was composed by the late Harry Warren, whom I knew the last several
years of his life, when he was a member of the Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters and often was a guest at their luncheons. Harry wrote it in 1931, I believe; and that was the year that Crosby recorded it on Brunswick and it was one of his first really big hits. I have known the lyrics by heart for over fifty years, and here they are from Bing Crosby's record: It was a lovely April shower, It was a most convenient door, I found a million dollar baby In a five and ten cent store. The rain continued for an hour I hung around for three or four Around the million dollar baby In the five and ten cent store. She was selling china And when she made those eyes, I kept buying china Until the crowd got wise. Incidentally, If you should run into a shower, Well step inside my cottage door, And meet the million dollar baby From the five and ten cent store (Bridge:) Love comes along like a popular song Anytime or anywhere at all, Rain or sunshine, Spring or fall. Say, you'll never know when it may say hello In a very unexpected place, For example, take my case. [ main set of words completely] |

Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap, let's go, Let's look at the show, We're riding in a wonderland of snow. Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap, it's grand, Just holding your hand, We're gliding along with a song of a wintry fairy land. Our cheeks are nice and rosy and comfy cozy are we We're snuggled up together like two birds of a feather would be Let's take that road before us and sing a chorus or two Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you. There's a birthday party at the home of Farmer Gray It'll be the perfect ending a perfect day We'll be singing the songs we love to sing without a single stop, At the fireplace while we watch the chestnuts pop. Pop! pop! pop! There's a happy feeling nothing in the world can buy, When they pass around the chocolate and the pumpkin pie It'll nearly be like a picture print by Currier and Ives These wonderful things are the things we remember all through our lives! You came to me
From out of nowhere. You took my heart And found it free. Wonderful dreams Wonderful schemes From nowhere Made every hour Sweet as a flower to me. And if you should go Back to your nowhere Leaving me with a memory. I'll always wait for your return Out of nowhere Hoping you'll bring your love to me. When I least expected Kindly fate directed You to make each dream of mine come true. And if it's clear or raining There is no explaining Things just happen and so did you. You came to me from out of nowhere You took my heart and you found it free. Wonderful dreams, wonderful schemes from nowhere Made every hour sweet as a flower to me. And if you should go back to your nowhere Leaving me with -- with my memory. I'll always wait for your return Out of nowhere Hoping you'll bring your love to me. |

You know dasher and dancer and prancer and vixen
Comet and cupid and donder and blitzen But do you recall The most famous reindeer of all Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer Had a very shiny nose And if you ever saw it You would even say it glows All of the other reindeer Used to laugh and call him names They never let poor rudolph Join in any reindeer games Then one foggy christmas eve Santa came to say Rudolph with your nose so bright Won't you guide my sleigh tonight? Then how the reindeer loved him As they shouted out with glee Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer You'll go down in history Hang your nose down rudy Hang your nose and cry |

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful And since we've no place to go Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. It doesn't show signs of stopping And I brought some corn for popping The lights are turned way down low Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. When we finally kiss good night How I'll hate going out in the storm But if you really hold me tight All the way home I'll be warm. The fire is slowly dying And, my dear, we're still good-bye-ing But as long as you love me so. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow When we finally kiss good night How I'll hate going out in the storm But if you really hold me tight All the way home I'll be warm. The fire is slowly dying And, my dear, we're still good-bye-ing But as long as you love me so. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. |

Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright. Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child. Holy infant so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace. Silent night, holy night! All is calm, all is bright. Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child. Holy infant so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace. |

Carolina
Gave me Dinah; I'm the proudest one Beneath the Dixie sun. News is spreadin' 'Bout our weddin'; I hear church bells ringin', Here's the song my heart keeps singin': Dinah, Is there anyone finer In the state of Carolina? If there is and you know her, Show her! Dinah, With her Dixie eyes blazin', How I love to sit and gaze in To the eyes of Dinah Lee! Yet, every night, My, how I shake with fright, Because my Dinah might, Change her mind about me! But if Dinah, Ever wandered to China, I would hop an ocean liner, Just to be with Dinah Lee! Dinah, Is there anyone finer In the state of Carolina? If there is and you know her, Show her! Dinah, With her Dixie eyes blazin', How I love to sit and gaze in To the eyes of Dinah Lee! Yet, every night, My, how I shake with fright, Because my Dinah might, Change her mind about me! But if Dinah, Ever wandered to China, I would hop an ocean!, Just to be with Dinah Lee! |

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
Just like the ones I used to know. Where those tree-tops glisten, And children listen To hear sleighbells in the snow. I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, With every Christmas card I write, "May your days be merry and brigt, And may all your Christmases be white" I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, Just like the ones I used to know. Where those tree-tops glisten, And children listen To hear sleighbells in the snow. We used to dwell in love's own palace,
A palace of dreams come true. Now that we're through I bear no malice, Though we've called it a day All I can say is Thanks for all the lovely delights I found in your embrace. I'm thankful though I know It's ending all too soon. And thanks for unforgettable nights I never can replace. And memories that linger like a haunting tune. It is better to have loved you dear and lost Than never to have loved at all. Yes it's better, for no matter what the cost I held the world in sway, an emperor for a day And thanks again for taking me on the road to paradise. We lost our road, but still I must convey our thanks. It is better to have loved you dear and lost Than never to have loved at all. Yes, its better, for no matter what the cost I held the world in sway, an emperor for a day And thanks again for taking me on the road to paradise. We lost our way but still I must convey my thanks. |

Written by: Dick Smith/Felix Bernard 1934 Sleigh bells ring Are you listenin' In the lane Snow is glistening A beautiful sight We're happy tonight Walking in a winter wonderland. Gone away is the bluebird Here to stay is a new bird He sings a love song As we go along Walking in a winter wonderland In the meadow we can build a snowman Then pretend that he is Parson Brown He'll say: Are you married? We'll say: No man But you can do the job When you're in town Later on We'll conspire As we dream by the fire To face unafraid The plans that we've made Walking in a winter wonderland. Let me tell you a tale that is often told
In the great Celestial Hall All about an angel only four years old The littlest angel of all How all day he would play with a little box That to others had no words Oh, but there were treasures in this little box The treasures he brought from Earth Just a butterfly with golden wings A little piece of a hollow log Two shiny stones from a river bank And the worn out strap of his faithful dog Then the angels all heard that the holy child Would be born in Bethlehem And they all brought present for the holy child And each gift was a heavenly gem Then the littlest angel put his little box With the presents fine and wrapped And the littlest angel sat alone and cried For his gift was so meager and bad Just a butterfly with golden wings A little piece of a hollow log Two shiny stones from a river bank And the worn out strap of his faithful dog But the Lord chose the gift of the little box That the child had blessed with love And it started glowing that very night It became the star up above When you see that star as it shines on high In the great Celestial Hall You will know the proudest angel in the sky Is the littlest angel of all With his butterfly with golden wings A little piece of a hollow log Two shiny stones from a river bank And the worn out strap of his faithful dog |

Memories
Light the corners of my mind Misty watercolor memories Of the way we were Scattered pictures Of the smiles we left behind Smiles we gave to one another For the way we were Can it be that it was all so simple then Or has time rewritten every line If we had the chance to do it all again Tell me...Would we? Could we? Memories May be beautiful and yet What's too painful to remember We simply choose to forget So it's the laughter We will remember Whenever we remember The way we were... The way we were. |

O holy night
the stars are brightly shining It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth! Long lay the world in sin and error pining 'till He appeared and the soul felt it's worth! A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new an' glorious morn! Fall on your knees O hear the angel voices O night divine O night, when Christ was born O night divine O night, O night divine! Fall on your knees O hear the angel voices O night divine O night, when Christ was born O night divine O night, O night divine! O holy night O night divine Music by Adolphe Charles Adam, 1803-1856 Words by Placide Cappeau de Roquemaure, 1847 - Tr. John Sullivan Dwight |
