[Chorus:]
Don't go near the water if you don't like to swim 'Cause somebody just might try and push you in Well now, how many times have I told you Not to get your feet wet If you don't like the water on you My baby baby baby get back [Chorus:] See just because it may look good It don't mean you always have to indulge 'Cause that's when it happens And you never know you might fall overboard [Chorus:] I hope you're listening to what you hear 'Cause I would never tell you no wrong But you don't have to believe me 'Cause after all it's only a song |

Pebble by pebble, sand grain by sand grain
Shore turns to sea, shore turns to ocean Serpent creates the high tides to assure all good is floating Good and righteousness is not intellectual and the fabric that's good cannot be proven and so that fabric is washed away far from the shore from which it was woven The shore is a place where persons live Sowing fabrics that's a tangent of the real one not wearable to most of the persons on shore In fact, it's only wearable to the person of one one person under an oath An oath to a serpent, an evil snake in search for being as powerful as God and all God's good he'll try to take [CHORUS:] [He'll try to take] (2x) [Good being washed away] [Love being washed away] Most of the persons follow the serpent coz the serpent preaches "all for self" But why follow someone in search of something when you'll get nothing. Serpent's all for self Some are dumb, some know no better Some believe there is no Lord The serpent uses this knowledge to help him and wash away more of the shore Serpent knows once shores are gone there's nothing left but ocean and sea A few persons trying to save the shore Some of those persons are A.D. Saving the shores means saving the faith The faith that there is a mighty someone Someone much more mighty that created everyone Up the ocean without a paddle is the fabric of God, the righteous clothing And you wear non-righteous clothes of the serpent Naively we keep on serving [CHORUS:] [The ocean's owned by the serpent] (4x) [We can stop being washed away] (6x) Why we let them wash it away ? Why are we allowing them to take what's good ? why don't we teach our children what's good ? Why don't we collect and save what is real ? Look very hard and swim the ocean We must find what needs to be found Look all around and find a wise man to feed us the truth and keep us sound All of us must swim the seas coz our path's been washed away All of us must swim the seas coz our path's been washed away My only purpose is to swim the seas Find the truth and spread it around Give it to the children that know how to listen so they can pass it after I drown [We can stop being washed away] (6x) [Sand grain by sand grain, pebble by pebble] [we can stop this, we can stop] [Can you help us ?] [Will you help us ?] [Please] [Help us stop being washed away] [All of us must swim the sea] [All of us] [Hey !] [Can you help us ? Will you help us ?] [Oooh please help us] |

The Lord allowed me to drink some more He said what I am searching for Are the answers to all which are in front of me The ultimate truth started to get blurry For some strange reason it had to be It was all a dream about Tennessee Take me to another place (Home) Take me to another land (Home) Make me forget all that hurts me Let me understand your plan Take me to another place (Home) Take me to another land (Home) Make me forget all that hurts me Let me understand your plan Oh won't you let me Won't you help me Won't you help me understand you plan? Take me home Take me home Home Take me to another place Take me home Oh you know I need to go home, yeah Headliner? I won the game of horseshoes. Now you owe me a watermelon. Let's go climb trees and skip over rocks, do like they do below the border. Hmm? Speech's hair? No it look like the roots of the tree my ancestors were hung from. Lord I've really been real stressed
Down and out, losing ground Although I am Black and proud Problems got me pessimistic Brothers and sisters keep messing up Why does it have to be so damn tough? I don't know where I can go To let these ghosts out of my skull My grandma's passed, my brother's gone I never at once felt so alone I know you're supposed to be my steering wheel Not just my spare tire (home) But Lord I ask you (home) To be my guiding force and truth (home) For some strange reason it had to be (home) He guided me to Tennessee (home) Take me to another place Take me to another land Make me forget all that hurts me Let me understand your plan Take me to another place Take me to another land Make me forget all that hurts me Let me understand your plan Lord it's obvious we got a relationship Talkin' to each other every night and day Although you're superior over me We talk to each other in a friendship way Then outta nowhere you tell me to break Outta the country and into more country Past Dyesburg into Ripley Where the ghost of childhood haunts me Walk the roads my forefathers walked Climbed the trees my forefathers hung from Ask those trees for all their wisdom They tell me my ears are so young (home) Go back to from whence you came (home) My family tree, my family name (home) For some strange reason it had to be (home) He guided me to Tennessee (home) Take me to another place Take me to another land Make me forget all that hurts me Let me understand your plan Take me to another place Take me to another land Make me forget all that hurts me Let me understand your plan Eshe? Yo
What can happen on an average beautiful day? You never know. Summer brings seasonal changes; it gets hot for a brother. On a beautiful sun- shiny day, I felt real free check out what happened to me. A nice breeze going through my hair, I’m loving how it feels right now! Beautiful people around: man, women, child. Kids with the Hula hoops hips going round. Mothers breast-feeding, kids lips pressing down. Beautiful-ist women: white, yellow, red, black, brown and dreads. Melting pot going down! Definitely an aphrodisiac crowd. And it’s time for me to go on stage right now! I take command of the mic like POW! Six o’clock white woman in the 6th aisle. She and her friend be smiling at me so wild, and I must admit she has a beautiful smile! I’m loving the sunshine, can’t help the way I feel, in the sunshine Folks to the right won’t ya raise ya hands and the folks to ya left won’t ya raise ya hands. From the front to the back won’t ya raise ya hands everybody in the joint won’t ya raise ya hands. After the show there was an autograph signing and she squeezed back stage and got in line and…I was wrapped up with the fans Sharpie in my hand, there she goes again, beautiful smile long hair, brushed across my hand like silk I swear, no lie. This is not me trying to deny who I am nor my race, I know my black sisters are constantly debased, and the truth is black berries are my taste but I’m high off possibilities of this thing blossoming so I just give it a try. As she handed her num… I felt a little numb inside of my mind feeling like I just betrayed all of my kind. But without no delay, without more to say, without no consideration for my race she said,”yo why don’t you come to my place”. I said, “right away” I’m loving the sunshine, can’t help the way I feel, in the sunshine. Many would have me say that this girl was evil. We both human beings and I know we equal, but we hung out and talked and we walked and things. And some brothers gave me stares I said that ain’t fair we two humans beings here. And I ain’t confused, I know my history’s clear, the sunshine’s beaming on both kinds of hair. Wisdom speaking loud, some folks don’t want to hear. There’s nothing new under the sun, many things that was had to succumb to the rhythm of the drum cuz we’re children of the son. And only he’s seen what has been seen since the beginning of day one. And the truth is this story is more of a lesson. I’m actually married to a sister that’s a black one. But under the sun what ever color your attracting, just remember loves and action word and character is more so what we should prefer. I’m loving the sunshine, can’t help the way I feel, in the sunshine |

Chorus:
Stop to think before you blow it 'Cause if you think you don't it will lead You down the path to the end of your life So - I finally got you hooked Now you've become a crook And your life belongs to me Yo - you'll do anything to get me How much you want to bet me 'Cause I'm pure ecstacy You started spending up your money Now you're cold and hungry 'Cause you have no place to live Yep - life is getting kinda harder Out there beggin' for a dollar But nobody will give Chorus See - I told you life would get much harder You thought you were smarter But I'm always in control Oh yes - so many out there love me They can't get enough of me Just one hit and then they're sold They told you not to try me Said you would never be free There'd be something missing Now you're hanging on the corner Beggin' for a dollar 'Cause you refused to listen |

I stand for children innocence in they eyes playing under blue skies trying out fake cries to see dey mamma sympathize wanting dey new toys thinking it a bring em joy thinking mom and dad are wack but later on they realize
Children playing in the dirt getting wet in the rain, falling till they learn that part of life is pain crawling till they learn that walking is another thing and running can come only when walking is no type of strain I stand for beauty earth sky woman man or other worldly things like birth strife and death again and things that we cant touch like love faith and sacrifice things that we like much like good food and moon light cloud formations clear blue skies four season leaves and the colors that stop by great songs great art great books and stories unrecognized underdogs that later gain glory The things that I stand for tell who I am The things that I stand for tell who I am The things that I stand for tell who I am The things that I stand for tell who I am I stand for truth political or spiritual and I know the truth can hurt but I’d rather hear it though whether truth about the past present future or all I know the man who hates truth is the man who will fall, I know that every single issue boils down to sin and the only way to kill sin is from within and the man who points his finger at everyone else has got 4 other finger pointed back to himself and that people don’t change cuz of words alone yet a nation can moved by one person whose strong and truth can be buried for moments of time but like the last day buried things are bound to rise… The things that I stand for tell who I am The things that I stand for tell who I am The things that I stand for tell who I am The things that I stand for tell who I am As I stand, so I rise Lift my tears up to the sky I stand for something or everything I fall for even when I’m wrong yo you know my views we choose most of our paths and that’s just the truth even if most of our ways lead to further blues and sometimes I stand for nothing I just sit and listen cuz no matter how much I got there’s things I’m missing so when its all done and said I stand for this, when its all done and said I stand for this, when its all done and said I stand for this Children beauty truth and something that stirs my insides inspires my very life cuz bottom line for everyone is you stand or sit, you stand or sit, you stand or sit, you stand or sit As I stand, so I rise Lift my tears up to the sky The things that I stand for tell who I am The things that I stand for tell who I am The things that I stand for tell who I am The things that I stand for tell who I am |

Since the last time, since the last time
It's been two years since we rock stages together We covered bases together and whether we all agreed or not 20/20 vision is hindsight and now we got that so we done got back Some of our soldiers have fallen, so many years of toiling Touring, tears falling, naw pouring jaded from the industries Jabs a lil' slower like Muhammad Ali but still we able to last So we go in the studio, it felt new but yet in a good way It felt old routines, we did came back so lucid, we was boosted We juiced it and came up with some tracks that's stupid And people responded to 'em, heads on the blocks With locks and baggie jeans, the whole scene was fond to 'em And how we got the labels kissing our hind parts We desired art and never sold out for the high chart positions I have been a thousand places Seen a million faces since the last time (Since the last time) I have been a thousand places Seen a million faces since the last time (Since the last time) Many rap groups attempt to latch to the popular cultures statutes And thus they detach their roots from the soil that kept them loose And made what they delivered so true There's a desert waste land of past artists that's so cruel Feeling thrown out like woody in toy story two And yo we felt that but let me tell you Satan, he dealt that I think it's time to give him his deck back, c'mon now I have been a thousand places Seen a million faces since the last time (Since the last time) I have been a thousand places Seen a million faces since the last time (Since the last time) Since the last time |

So what am I doin? Am I really rebellin? or am I just dwelling in the sin in the sin in the sin? I've made up my mind I've seen the design of individualism and I don't want to be in it The me generations a dis-ease! |

The reality of it all is that reality is
What it is or what we think it is Why are things the way they are? Who said that the sky was in fact the sky And not the ground that we should walk upon? Makes you wonder, hmm? Why is green green? What if it's really blue? And is what we think we think really true? It is said that "I think, therefore I am" Are we really thinking? There's something going on And I don't know what it is There's a change taking place in my mind And I don't know how I lived Before the doors were opened To the house of wisdom What do you know about the chosen man? And where in fact is the promised land? It is said that "I think, therefore I am" Are we really thinking? If we are here, then where is there? And if in fact we're here, then why aren't we there? It is said "I think, therefore I am" Are we really thinking? The reality of it all is that reality is What it is or what we think it is Why are things the way they are? Who has taught us all that we know now? And is it for real? Makes you wonder Makes me wonder Makes us wonder Yeah... |

My skin could never no curse, no it can't
I wear it like a prom tuxedo I wear my hair as if its the sun and... each and every dread is a powerful light ray never wanted things to be in reverse cuz GOD makes waves wise travellers so my views of this world are ever growing thus ever growing is the way one must view me A soul of conviction unjustly convicted happy tv commercials and bi-racial shows the smell of reality still burns my nose not content until it smells like a rose whether it's in syle to keep the fight I tread these waters and make my waves yes I do And I will fight until my dying day And even after that my ghost resides with pride Forward ever backward never day by day these trials I trod Always triumphant never fail We've come too far to turn back now I won't turn back I move My blood is thicker than the waters of any flood Here I am facing the almighty herself If she approves then I am saved Clear of trouble is the path I pave for generations to walk and run Whether it's in style to keep the fight I tread these waters and make waves GOD knows and I will fight until my dying day and even after that my ghost resides with pride |

See I was resting at the park minding my own
business as I kick up the treble tone on my radio tape player box, right just loud enough so folks could hear it's hype, see ? Outta nowhere comes the woman I'm dating investigation maybe she was demonstrating But nevertheless I was pleased My day was going great and my soul was at ease until a group of brothers started bugging out drinking the 40 oz, going the nigga route Disrespecting my black queen holding their crotches and being obscene At first I ignored them cause see I know their type They got drunk and got guns and they wanna fight and they see a young couple having a time that's good and their egos wanna test a brother's manhood So they came to test Speech cause of my hair-do and the loud bright colors that I wear [Boo !] I was a target cause I'm a fashion misfit and the outfit that I'm wearing brothers dissing it Well I stay calm and pray the niggaz leave me be but they're squeezing parts of my date's anatomy Why, Lord, do brothers have to drill me ? Cause if I start to hit this man they'll have to kill me [CHORUS:] I am everyday people (2x) I told the niggaz please let us pass, friend I said please cause I don't like killing Africans but he wouldn't stop and I ain't Ice Cube but I had to take the brother out for being rude and like I said before I was mad by then It took three or four cops to pull me off of him But that's the story y'all of a black man acting like a nigga and get stomped by an African [CHORUS] |

Everything's so crystal clear now
All I needed was time Everything's so crystal clear now I've cleaned my mind Now the sky has opened There are no limits to this Let me feel the passion That I know exists when you're with me 'cause I can feel it when you look at me And baby, that's about the time Your lips touch mine Feels so good when we intertwine Like the motion of the ocean The feeling's like no other Passion is with me Touch my heart, touch my soul Lead me into the light of a new day Touch my heart, touch my soul Lift me up into the wonder of ecstasy I am here to explore Do as it pleases us And there will be no resistance So come on in and let nature take its course This is what we've been waiting for Yeah, yeah, yeah |

Please tell me what is going on
What have I done to you To make you feel so blue? I know something has gone wrong I can see it in your eyes There is no need to lie If I am truly your friend Maybe sometimes we don't agree But you can come to me You know I'm here until the end And if I can ease the pain I'll make you see a brighter day Either now or later I don't want to pressure you I know you need some time To search and try to find Put all your thoughts into view And you will soon believe Anything you can achieve I hate to see you feel this way 'cause all your misery Is killing me, baby Things will change, if not today Look to the heavens up above And there is where you'll find your love |

(I wouldn’t trade what I get from my kids, the feeling of security that they get from me. Knowing that my life is making a difference in their life, knowing that they need me, I wouldn’t trade that for nothing)
Living Life-Life is love (Nobody believes me anyway) Love of woman or man The love of taking a stand of trust. You bust your butt on single scenes for what? If not to find love. You know it’s love or lack of love that causes gangs or causes thugs. Mothers & sons, fathers and daughters all are in need of someone. And at the time that we don’t find it, we design a plan…we search the land for woman or man to give what we need in order to live! We get hurt and break our spirits & our hearts. We start to fear it… we get further and further growing harder and harder… some even say why bother! Living Life-Life is love (Nobody believes me anyway) Every single person ought to have a daughter or a son Someone to love above themselves to help you grasp the depths of love It’s radical! It’s tragic though how people underestimate the greatness and relentless, miraculous stakes of love. I’m serious we see terrorist hardened to the core willing to kill mame or hurt just so they can be heard! They’ll kill women or children, we’re quick to say that they’re villains but every bodies got feelings, the things that they’ve been just dealing with! Living Life-Life is love (Nobody believes me anyway) The heart of a man is complex, who can understand it Next, we taking love for granted, never the way the Father planned it A seed was planted in the children, love your daddies and you mothers Brothers love your sisters, all of my sisters love your brothers Because we are getting older, we got the weight of the world on our shoulders But hold your head up soldier, although I know your heart is growing colder Similar to polar, love your family tipsy or sober Magnolia resist the coke, and I'm not referring to cola Because we fall in and out of love, shout love, doubt love Husband or wife and now your whole life is about love Too much or not enough love leads to rough love Tough love, some overstand but handcuff love A different race, dogs on the chase like who's next love A different game, no one's ashamed of same sex love Those loving respect, ought to try to respect love It's One Love, I'm living to protect love But.... (Nobody believes me anyway) |

in fact no brotherman here, have two Two dollars means a snack for me, but it means a big deal to you Be strong, serve God only, know that if you do, beautiful heaven awaits That's the poem I wrote for the first time I saw a man with no clothes, no money, no plate Mr.Wendal, that's his name, no one ever knew his name cause he's a no-one Never thought twice about spending on a ol' bum, until I had the chance to really get to know one Now that I know him, to give him money isn't charity He gives me some knowledge, I buy him some shoes And to think blacks spend all that money on big colleges, still most of y'all come out confused Go ahead, Mr.Wendal (2x) Mr.Wendal has freedom, a free that you and I think is dumb Free to be without the worries of a quick to diss society for Mr.Wendal's a bum His only worries are sickness and an occasional harassment by the police and their chase Uncivilized we call him, but I just saw him eat off the food we waste Civilization, are we really civilized, yes or no ? Who are we to judge ? When thousands of innocent men could be brutally enslaved and killed over a racist grudge Mr.Wendal has tried to warn us about our ways but we don't hear him talk Is it his fault when we've gone too far, and we got too far, cause on him we walk Mr.Wendal, a man, a human in flesh, but not by law I feed you dignity to stand with pride, realize that all in all you stand tall Mr.Wendal, yeah yeah yeah, Lord, Mr.Wendal |

In fact, no brother-man here, have two Two dollars means a snack for me But it means a big deal to you "Be strong, serve God only, know that if you do, beautiful heaven awaits" That's the poem I wrote for the first time I saw a man with no clothes, no money, no plate Mr. Wendal, that's his name No one ever knew his name cause he's a no one Never thought twice about spending on a ol' bum, until I had the chance to really get to know one Now that I know him, to give him money isn't charity He gives me some knowledge, I buy him some shoes And to think blacks spend all that money on big colleges Still most of y'all come out confused Go ahead, Mr. Wendal Go ahead, Mr. Wendal Mr. Wendal has freedom A free that you and I think is dumb Free to be without the worries of a quick to diss society For Mr. Wendal's a bum His only worries are sickness And an occasional harassment by the police and their chase Uncivilized we call him, but I just saw him Eat off the food we waste Civilization, are we really civilized, yes or no? Who are we to judge? When thousands of innocent men could be brutally enslaved Or killed over a racist grudge Mr. Wendal has tried to warn us about our ways But we don't hear him talk Is it his fault when we've gone too far And we got too far, 'cause on him we walk Mr.Wendal, a man, a human in flesh, But not by law I feed you dignity to stand with pride Realize that all in all you stand tall Go ahead, Mr. Wendal Mr. Wendal, yeah Mr. Wendal, yeah Mr. Wendal, go ahead Mr.Wendal Lord, Mr.Wendal |

Mr. Landlord step off my yard
Mr. Landlord I understand. You have a right to check out yo land cuz it's "yo land". My family told me you've been peekin in windos Forcing themto be a little scared keeping curtains closed. I protect my house but on tour I try to find a home where my people are secure, Your racist views are the views of your own But please don't let it enter my family zone. Just lettin' you know, I'm not a lil ole' colored boy That steps off the curb when you walk your walk So please don't mistake my kindness for blindness I've known yo game since Columbus came And if I woulda known how your neck was burnin' red. In your complex I wouldn't of been caught dead, So here's my message from me to you My space is off limits until we move! You understand that! Mr. Landlord step of my yard Mr. Landlord I have to question Do you expect me to chill while ou're bumrushin You thought we were the passive kind well yo're mistakin' You outta give nuff respect like I'm Jamaican The point is I feel you endanger my pride Your racist comments, yhour racist approach I aint with... It's bad enough there's kids in there that are strugglin Finding themselves with out you bringin' racism! Just to bring peace do I have to get a piece? And in the break of dawn I guess I'll pray 2 the east Cuz I'm not the one to get slapped on the cheek Without my fist curling up to hit you back in yo teeth! Yo (free yourself-free yourself-freedom) Is what we want not a fight Waving Confederate flags & gun toting' is your type You ever heard of Ogune, well soon his spell Will clear my brain while he clears where I dwell. I call on the natural forces that be.. To help to free me, to free me! Al-ya bolia bol-I YA Al-ya bolia bol-I YA A yaah ea yaah ea |
