Gather 'round me, everybody
Gather 'round me, while I preach some Feel a sermon coming on here The topic will be sin And that's what I'm agin' If you wanna hear my story Then settle back and just sit tight While I start reviewing The attitude of doing right You got to ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive E-lim-i-nate the negative And latch on to the affirmative Don't mess with mister inbetween You got to spread joy up to the maximum Bring gloom down to the minimum And have faith, or pandemonium Liable to walk upon the scene To illustrate my last remark Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark, What did they do, just when everything looked so dark? Man, they said, we better Ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive E-lim-i-nate the negative And latch on to the affirmative Don't mess with mister inbetween No don't mess with mister inbetween You got to spread joy up to the maximum Bring gloom down to the minimum And have faith, or pandemonium Liable to walk upon the scene You got to ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive E-lim-i-nate the negative And latch on to the affirmative Don't mess with mister inbetween No don't mess with mister inbetween |

M: I really can't stay
J: But baby, it's cold outside M: I've got to go 'way! J: But baby, it's cold outside M: This evening has been... J: Been hoping that you'd drop in M: So very nice J: I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice! M: My mother will start to worry... J: Beautiful, what's your hurry? M: And father will be pacing the floor J: Listen to the fireplace roar M: So really, I'd better scurry J: Beautiful, please don't hurry M: Well, maybe just a half a drink more J: Put some records on while I pour M: The neighbors might think... J: But baby, it's bad out there M: Say, what's in this drink? J: No cabs to be had out there M: I wish I knew how... J: Your eyes are like starlight, now M: To break the spell J: I'll take your hat M: (GASP) J: Your hair looks swell! M: I ought to say no, no, no, sir J: Mind if I move in closer? M: At least I'm gonna say that I tried J: What's the sense of hurting my pride? M: I really can't stay J: Baby, don't hold out... Both: Ah, but it's cold outside... M: I simply must go! J: But baby, it's cold outside M: The answer is no! J: But baby, it's cold outside M: This welcome has been... J: How lucky that you dropped in M: So nice and warm J: Look out the window at that storm! M: My sister will be suspicious... J: Gosh, your lips look delicious M: My brother will be there at the door! J: Waves upon a tropical shore... M: My maiden aunt's mind is vicious! J: Ooo, your lips are delicious... M: Well, maybe just a cigarette more J: Never such a blizzard before! M: I've got to get home! J: But, baby, you'll freeze out there M: See ya, say, lend me a comb! J: It's up to your knees out there M: You've really been grand... J: I thrill when you touch my hand M: But don't you see? J: How can you do this thing to me? M: There's bound to be talk tomorrow... J: Think of my life long sorrow... M: At least, there will be plenty implied... J: If you caught pneumonia and died! M: I really can't stay J: Get over that old out... Both: Ooo baby, it's cold outside... |

My mama done told me when I was in knee-pants
My mama done told me, she said Son A woman will sweet-talk ya, she'll give you the big eye But when that sweet talkin' is done A woman's a two-face, a worrisome thing Who'll leave ya to sing the blues in the night Now the rain's a fallin', hear the train a callin', oooo-ee Hear the lonesome whistle blowin' 'cross the trestle, oooo-ee Oooo-ee-a-oooo-ee, ol' clickety-clack Comes echoing back the blues in the night The evening breeze will start the trees to cryin' And the moonlight will hide its light When you get the blues in the night Take my word, the mockingbird He will sing the saddest kind of song He knows things are wrong and he's right From Natchez to Mobile From Memphis to St. Joe Wherever the four winds seem to blow I've been in some big towns and I've heard me some big talkin' But there is one thing I know A woman's a two-face She's a worrisome thing Who'll leave you to sing the blues in the night Got a case of the blues in the night Don't know what to do Blues every night It's all because of you Repeat |

I'm gonna love you
Like nobody's loved you Come rain or come shine High as a mountain And deep as a river Come rain or come shine I guess when you met me It was just one of those things But don' t ever bet me Cause I'm gonna be true If you let me You're gonna love me Like nobody's loved me Come rain or come shine Happy together, unhappy together And won't it be fine Days may be cloudy or sunny We're in, or we're out of the money But I'm with you always I'm with you rain or shine I'm gonna love you Like nobody's loved you Come rain or come shine High as a mountain Deep as a river Come rain or come shine I guess when you met me It was just one of those things But don't ever bet me Cause I'm gonna be true If you let me You're gonna love me Like nobody's loved me Come rain or come shine Happy together, unhappy together And won't it be fine Days may be cloudy or sunny We're in, or we're out of the money But I'll love you always I'm with you rain or shine Rain or shine |

Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossing you in style some day Oh dream maker, you heart breaker Wherever you're going, I'm going your way Two drifters off to see the world There's such a lot of world to see We're after the same rainbow's end Waiting 'round the bend, my huckleberry friend Moon river and me |

It's quarter to three, there's no one in the place Except you and me So set 'em' up joe, I got a little story I think you should know We're drinking my friend, to the end Of a brief episode Make it one for my baby And one more for the road I know the routine, put another nickel In the machine I feel kind of bad, can't you make the music Easy and sad I could tell you a lot, but it's not In a gentleman's code Make it one for my baby And one more for the road You'd never know it, but buddy I'm a kind of poet And I've got a lot of things I'd like to say And if I'm gloomy, please listen to me Till it's talked away Well that's how it goes, and joe I know your gettin' Anxious to close Thanks for the cheer I hope you didn't mind My bending your ear But this torch that I found, it's gotta be drowned Or it's gonna explode Make it one for my baby And one more for the road |

When Madame Pompadour was on a ballroom floor
Said all the gentlemen, "Obviously," "The madame has the cutest personality." And think of all the books about Du Barry's looks What was it made her the toast of Paris? She had a well-developed personality (What did Romeo see in Juliet?) (Or Figaro in Figarette?) (Or Jupiter in Juno?) You know! And when Salome danced and had the boys entranced No doubt it must have been easy to see That she knew how to use her personality (A girl can learn to spell and take dictation well) (And never sit on the boss' left knee) (Unless she's got a perfect personality) (A girl can get somewhere in spite of stringy hair) (Or even just a bit bowed at the knee) (If she can show a faultless personality) Why are certain girls offered certain things Like sable coats and wedding rings? By men who wear their spats right? (That's right!) (So don'tcha say I'm smart and have the kindest heart (Or what a wonderful sister I'd be) Just tell me how you like my Rufff!! (Personality) Baby, you've got the cutest Personality |

This is the strip polka
I adore this [incomprehensible] [incomprehensible] There's a burlesque theater where the gang loves to go To see queenie the cutie of the burlesque show And the thrill of the evening is when out queenie skips And the band plays the polka while she strips "Take it off, take it off", cries a voice from the rear "Take it off, take it off", soon it's all you can hear But she's always a lady even in pantomime So she stops and always just in time She's as fresh and as wholesome as the flowers in May And she hopes to retire to the farm someday But you can't buy a farm until you're up in the chips So the band plays the polka while she strips "Take it off, take it off", all the customers shout "Down in front, down in front", while the band beats it out But she's always a lady even in pantomime So she stops and always just in time Queenie, queen of them all Queenie, someday you'll fall Someday church bells will chime In strip polka time Oh, she hates corny waltzes and she hates the gavotte And there's one big advantage if the music's hot It's a fast moving exit just in case something rips So the band plays the polka while she strips Drop around, take it in, it's the best in the west "Take it off, take it off, take it off", you can yell like the rest Take her out when it's over, she's a peach when she's dressed But she stops and always just in time, time, time Queenie, queen of them all Queenie, someday you'll fall Someday church bells will chime In strip polka time |
