The sky has lost it's color
The sun has turned to grey At least that's how it feels to me Whenever you're away I crawl up in the corner As I watch the minutes pass Each one brings me closer to The time when you'll be back You're coming back I can't take the distance I can't take the miles I can't take the time Until the next time I see you smile I can't take the distance And I'm not ashamed That I can't take a breath without saying your name I can brave a hurricane And still be standing tall when all the dust has settled down But I can't take the distance I still believe in feelings But sometimes I feel too much I make believe you're close to me But it ain't close enough Not nearly close enough |

Last night I heard the sweetest words
But if I wasn't' drinking I might have remembered more of what she said There were sounds of promise And shades of grace I've been down and I've been waiting Here she comes here she comes Now another day has found me And if I wasn't so stupid I'd have ushered in the morning holding her tight With sounds of promise And shades of grace I've been down and I've been waiting Here she comes here she comes I'm done hanging on maybe Tonight I'll say the sweetest words But if I'm not dreaming I might not remember To say just what I mean With sounds of promise And shades of grace I'm done hanging on maybe I don't wanna go, she don't wanna go, We don't need to go this time is ours tonight |

Do you remember? Do you remember? How you were gonna stay free But they had plans for you And things to do The same thing goes for me Well well I never Saw it coming to me But when I turned around To look at you It was all that I could do To see the distance Everybody wants to run And I'm no different Feeling like the only one In the beginning Everything was so close And it seemed that everywhere you go Everybody knows You don't remember What you wanted to be Well they went round the class And you were last The clock was fast So no one asked To see the distance Everybody wants to run And I'm no different Feeling like the only one Well how long can you run? How far and what for? How far will you run To get whatever you're after Year after year after year Well I've been looking But I still can't see How we get from a to b to c And feel like we should be Well I've been running But I've been running around Now there's nothing left for me to do But sit around and see the view And see the distance Everybody wants to run And I'm no different Feeling like the only one Do you remember? Now I've found a little time
to take a look back from the caboose and follow the tracks of my life. They're tangled about lying true. And I know it's just me, my point of view, but those are the important two, and I don't need to check with the crowd. Wouldn't it be nice to be proud? The door was open and into the night. I jumped through and turned on the light. I started to see though it wasn't that bright I saw island sky but it wasn't all blue. My aces weren't right but I didn't want to lose, so I put up a fight and screamed out loud. Wouldn't it be nice to be proud? And when it all is clear, the time to repair disappears takin' with it chances left untried. See my friends huddled together, tryin' to stay warm in nasty weather. We'd beat the odds, whenever they'd call. And all the jokes that I played on friends never did get me in the end. I guess I was given more than allowed. Wouldn't it be nice to be proud? And when it all is clear the time to repair disappears takin' with it chances left untried. |

but my thoughts have kept me thinking about some things in my life I got your number from a friend who told me that it'd be all right to call you if I ever need Someone to show me things in a different light and let me choose what's wrong and what's right Please pick up the phone I need to talk, I know you're at home If you're screening your calls I know you're busy and I won't keep you long If you know everything that happens to me Why do I have to ask you for things that I need what about people who don't even call 'cause they don't have the number, do you help them at all? will you show me things in a different light and let me choose what's wrong and what's right Please pick up the phone I need to talk, I know you're at home If you're screening your calls I know you're busy and I won't keep you long Well, I've moved away and I'm out on my own Do you ever get lonely living alone? Can we just talk about it won't you pick up the phone Every night I sit and stare at the wall in front of my face imagining you're there talking back to me so that everyone can see that I'm not so crazy after all Well, I've moved away and I'm out on my own Do you ever get lonely living alone? And she talks over the sound Of the cars that pass us by And I don't know why But she's changed my mind Would you look at her she looks at me She's got me thinking about her constantly But she don't know how I feel And as she carries on without a doubt I wonder if she's figured out I'm crazy for this girl Yeah, I'm crazy for this girl She was the one to hold me The night, the sky fell down And what was I thinking when The world didn't end Why didn't I know what I know now Would you look at her She looks at me She's got me thinking about her constantly But she don't know how I feel And as she carries on without a doubt I wonder if she's figured out I'm crazy for this girl Yeah, I'm crazy for this girl Right now Face to face All my fears Pushed aside And right now I'm ready to spend the rest of my life With you Would you look at her She looks at me She's got me thinking about her constantly But she don't know how I feel And as she carries on without a doubt I wonder if she's figured out I'm crazy for this girl Would you look at her She looks at me She's got me thinking about her constantly But she don't know how I feel carries on without a doubt I wonder if she's figured out I'm crazy for this girl |

It sure looked good on paper
Until we read between the lines It always hurts when you find You're running out of "laters" and "maybe next times" When you can almost read her mind She likes the romance The slow dance The staying out all night She likes the Christmas lights all year round Why put 'em up, take 'em down? She watches baseball Hates the mall Hangs out with the guys That's what I know about what she likes She's all about the rainbow But not the one on Sunset Boulevard I got it wrong, she took it hard And it really hurts to let go When you're so close To making it so far She likes the romance The slow dance The staying out all night She likes the Christmas lights all year round Why put 'em up, take 'em down? She watches baseball Hates the mall Hangs out with the guys That's what I know about what she likes I should've known that I Never could've known that I Could ever know enough about her To keep her mine .................... She likes the romance The slow dance That keeps me up all night She likes the Christmas lights up all year round And I just took 'em down She watches baseball Hates the mall And now I realized... what the hell do I know about what she likes She likes the romance The slow dance The staying out all night She likes the Christmas lights all year round Why put 'em up, take 'em down? She watches baseball Hates the mall Hangs out with the guys its what she likes.... x4 |

I plan to take every moment that you are
And hang them on the wall I can't explain what you did to me But I can frame it all And when I say goodnight I'll find you there Starring at me with those eyes And walking me to the bedroom And ohhh, I wish I could see you back I hope you're fine wherever you are And know that I think about you all the time I, I smile through the blue for you Even though it's hard to stay awake some days And baby I smile sometimes through the blue for you Even though I know you're a million miles away I had to leave work again early today Everyone thinks I'm lazy I had to be home when you go there I must be going crazy And when I say goodnight I'll find you there Starring at me with those eyes And walking me to the bedroom And ohhh, I wish I could see you back I hope you're fine wherever you are That you're with me all the time I, I smile through the blue for you Even though it's hard to stay awake some days And baby I smile sometimes through the blue for you Even though I know you're a million miles away Sometimes I wake up to the sweet sounds of the earth I wonder, is that you Sometimes in the morning when I order my coffee I order one for you (guitar solo) Babdy I, I smile through the blue for you Even though it's hard to stay awake some days Baby I smile through the blue for you Even though I know you're a million miles away And I'll never understand why you went away... |

I wonder how the morning came last night
I went insane I threw some things, I smashed some things What happens next, I haven't figured out yet I'm not quite sure what drove me to the madness bringing on my dark side Was it me? Was it you and your obnoxious friends who made me feel defenseless Couldn't care less about The things you'll think when I walk out Couldn't care less about What happens now I couldn't care less about the psycho-babble from your mouth (the things you'll think when I walk out) Don't think I care enough to care Tripped on your diploma Who knows what could (be this Spring) Bringing, just bringing to the moon Somewhere on a country road, probably killing me Under broken things, you found your wings, goodbye I couldn't care less about The things you'll think when I walk out (the things you'll think when I walk out) Couldn't care less about what happens now I couldn't care less about the psycho-babble from your mouth (the things you'll think when I walk out) I don't think I care enough to care Right now, you've reached the mountain Deny yourself the fountains at... Exit 41 Gold-blue cavern that hides the sun so well I Couldn't care less about the things that you're thinking, you're thinking when I walk out I couldn't care less about what happens now I couldn't care less about (the things that you're thinking, you're thinking when I walk out) The things you'll think when I walk out Couldn't care less about what happens now I couldn't care less about (same "thinking" part as above) the psycho-babble from your mouth Don't think I care enough to care, to care Oh, I couldn't care less about (same "thinking" part again) The things you'll think when I walk out Couldn't care less about What happens now, what happens now, what happens now Oh, woah woah-woah woah-woah(chant with song) 5x (music fade out) |

if nature sold herself on layaway
in a little town I would be the first in line and buy myself a sound a waterfall a tidal wave or a breathing of the trees a heavy wind a thunder or a falling of the leaves and I would proclaim I'm the new proprietor of a sound in a press conference held downtown when the people would look at me in distain I would simply tell them this at least you'll have someone to blame for ruining your weekend I would play mother nature unlease my sound at will no more sitting and waiting on this cracked window sill if I feel like love I will shake the trees if I'm consumed in lonliness then I will drop the leaves and I would proclaim I'm the new proprietor of a sound in a press conference held downtown when the people would look at me in distain I would simply say outright at least you have someone to blame for scaring the children in the night what if I call for a waterfall some light rain and some other owner calls for a massive hurricaine we'd have to be responsible users and respect the rules of God I'll just take a load off and have to buy them all and I would proclaim I'm the new proprietor of a sound in a press conference held downtown when the people would look at me in distain I would simply say at least you have someone to blame for a near perfect day |
