I see trees of green, red roses, too
I see them bloom for me and you And I say to myself What a wonderful world I see skies of blue and clouds of white Bright sunny days, dark sacred nights And I think to myself What a wonderful world The colors of the rainbow are so pretty in the skies Are also on the faces of people walkin' by I see friends shakin' hands, sayin', "How do you do?" They're really sayin', "I love you" I see babies cry, I watch them grow They'll learn much more than I'll ever know And I think to myself What a wonderful world Yes, I think to myself What a wonderful world And I say to myself What a wonderful world |

I stopped talking when I was six years old
I didn't want anything more to do with the outside world I was happy being quiet But of course they wouldn't leave me alone My parents tried every trick in the book From speech therapists to child psychologists They even tried bribery I could have anything, as long as I said it out loud Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it Of course this episode didn't last forever I'd made my point and it was time to move on To peel away the next layer of deceit And see what new surprises lay in store My school report said I showed no interest 'A disruptive influence' I felt sorry for them in a way And when they finally expelled me It didn't mean a thing Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it ("At that time she stopped what she was doing, she stopped playing... she stared, she had the facial grimicing... and then the psychiatrist was saying, "Julie, Julie, can you hear me? Can you open your eyes? Can you stick out your tongue?" And all of a sudden, Julie struck out") The November day I came home the Christmas decorations were already up Spray on snow, coloured flashing lights And an artificial tree that played Silent Night Over and over again My parents welcomed me with loving arms But within an hour were back at each others throats Normal, happy childhood back on course Batteries not included Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it |

You could call me a car lover,
cause I love it in a motor, And the way it feels, To ride around on new wheels. I hardly know you, But I think I'm going to, Let's go siesta, In your Ford Fiesta. (chorus:) Here we go again, I'm riding in your car, Let me count to ten, Cause it's gone way too far, Up my street to nowhere, You know what detours are, Here we go again, And it's gone way too far. Sometimes I just can't function, My heart's spaghetti Junction, Every shining bonnet, Makes me think of my back on it. I just can't escape the feeling, That I'd rather be free wheeling, In every little Honda, There may lurk a Peter Fonda, (repeat chorus) |

Do you remember the first kiss?
Stars shooting across the sky To come to such a place as this You never left my mind I'm watching from the wall As in the streets we fight This world all gone to war All I need is you tonight And I draw a line To your heart today To your heart from mine A line to keep us safe All through the rising sun All through the circling years You were the only one Who could have brought me here And I draw a line To your heart today To your heart from mine A line to keep us safe |

I'm the man who murdered love
Yeah! What do you think to that? I'm the man who murdered love Yeah! What do you think to that? He was begging on his bended knee For me to put him from his misery He hadn't worked at all this century Said 'I do a job for all humanity' I'm the man who murdered love Yeah! What do you think to that? I'm the man who murdered love Yeah! What do you think to that? I put a bullet in his sugar head He thanked me kindly then he lay down dead Phony roses blossomed where he bled Then all the cheering angels shook my hand and said... I'm the man who murdered love Yeah! What do you think to that? I'm the man who murdered love Yeah! What do you think to that? Oh! It's the middle of the song! Oh! Yeah! Oh! Yeah! I'm guilty! I'm guilty! I'm guilty! Yeah! And then I turned and said There'll be no more pain from broken hearts And no more lovers to be torn apart Before you throw me in your dungeon dark You oughta film me putting statues up in every park I'm the man who murdered love Yeah! What do you think to that? I'm the man who murdered love Yeah! What do you think to that? So dear public, I'm here to confess That I'm the one who freed us from this mess Love won't be calling at your address 'Cause what you never had you'll never miss, I guess I'm the man who murdered love Yeah! What do you think to that? I'm the man who murdered love Yeah! What do you think to that? If you never ever use it You know you're gonna lose it If you never ever kiss it How're you ever gonna miss it? I'm the man... |

She's not with you
Now, you think to much about her picking up new questions You don't know, what you don't know could you never said? And the quiet doubts about you will gather in your head So, tell her what she wants to know, she'll find out anyway Oh, tell her what she wants to know, she'll find out Oh, tell her what she wants to know, she'll find out anyway Tell her, tell her You can't find it That's when she's gone looking for you and she leaves you too much room And this may make you feel ignored, don't let it go But you won't say you love her, she will see you in yours eyes, she'll know So, tell her what she wants to know, she'll find out anyway Oh, tell her what she wants to know, she'll find out Oh, tell her what she wants to know, she'll find out anyway Tell her, tell her |

You take the air in
You take the whole room in, ya Hold it for all time, Hold it in your heart like amber You take the night in You take the consequences major in your life, Not by what is safe to wager Smile, there's no regrets Layers wash through our hands and Then you never see tomorrow comin' You only feel the wake of it Smile, there's no release This flood of life won't cease To leave you lying in wild amazement Or reeling in the wake of it You take the grandeur And I'll take to wondering The error of my ways I could ponder this forever Smile, there's no regrets (no regrets) Layers wash through our hands and Then you never see tomorrow comin' You only feel the wake of it Smile, there's no release (no release) This flood of life won't cease To leave you lying in wild amazement Or reeling in the wake of it, oh no Ooooh, ooooh, ooooh, Smile, there's no regrets (no regrets) Layers wash through our hands and Then you never see tomorrow comin' (never see tomorrow) You only feel the wake of it (you only feel the wake of it) Smile, there's no release (no release) This flood of life won't cease To leave you lying in wild amazement Or reeling in the wake of it, oh no Smile... smile.... smile.... smile.... |

Do you remember the time I knew a girl from Mars?
I don't know if you knew that Oh we'd stay up late playing cards Henri Winterman Cigars And she never told me her name I still love you, the girl from Mars Sitting in our dreamy daze by the water's edge On a cool summer night Fireflies and the stars in the sky Gentle glowing light From your cigarette The breeze blowing softly on my face Reminds me of something else Something that in my memory has been misplaced Suddenly all comes back And as I look to the stars I remember the time I knew a girl from Mars I don't know if you knew that Oh we'd stay up late playing cards Henri Winterman Cigars And she never told me her name I still love you, the girl from Mars Surging through the darkness over the moonlight strand Electricity in the air Twisting all through the night on the terrace Now that summer's here I know that you are almost in love with me I can see it in your eyes Strange light shimmering over the sea tonight And it almost blows my mind And as I look to the stars I remember the time I knew a girl from Mars I don't know if you knew that Oh we'd stay up late playing cards Henri Winterman Cigars And she never told me her name I still love you, the girl from Mars Today I sleep in the chair by the window It felt as if you'd returned I thought that you were standing over me When I woke there was no-one there I still love you, the girl from... MARS! Do you remember the time I knew a girl from Mars? I don't know if you knew that Oh we'd stay up late playing cards Henri Winterman Cigars And she never told me her name Do you remember the time I knew a girl from Mars? I don't know if you knew that Oh we'd stay up late playing cards Henri Winterman Cigars And I still dream of you I still love you, the girl from Mars |

Come along with me to my little corner of the world
Dream a little dream in my little corner of the world You’ll soon forget that there’s any other place Tonight, my love, we’ll share a sweet embrace And if you care to stay in my little corner of the world We could hide away in my little corner of the world I always knew that I’d find someone like you So welcome to my little corner of the world And if you care to stay in our little corner of the world We could hide away in our little corner of the world We always knew that we’d find someone like you So welcome to our little corner of the world |
