Don't know much about history,
Don't know much biology. Don't know much about a science book, Don't know much about the French I took. But I do know that I love you, And I know that if you love me, too, What a wonderful world this would be. Don't know much about geography, Don't know much trigonometry. Don't know much about algebra, Don't know what s slide rule is for. But I do know one and one is two, And if this one could be with you, What a wonderful world this would be. I don't claim to be an 'A' student, But I'm tryin' to be, For maybe by being an 'A'-student, baby, I can win your love for me. Don't know much about history, Don't know much biology. Don't know much about a science book, Don't know much about the French I took. But I do know that I love you, And I know that if you love me, too, What a wonderful world this would be. the problem is all inside your head, she said to me
the answer is easy if you take it logically. i'de like to help you in your struggle to be free there must be 50 ways to leave your lover. she said it's really not my habit to intrude for the more i hope my meaning won't be lost or misconstrued so i repeat my self,at the risk of being cruel there must be 50 ways to leave your lover chorus: just slip out the back,Jack make a new plan,Stan don't need to be coy,Roy just listen to me hop on the bus,Gus don't need to discuss much just drop off the key,Lee and get yourself free. she said it grieves me so to see you in such pain i wish there was somthing i could do to make you smile again i said,i appreciate that, and would you please explain about the 50 ways. she said, why don't we both just sleep on it tonight and i believe in the morning you'll begin to see the light and then she kissed me and i realized she probably was rihgt there must be 50 ways to leave your lover 50ways to leve your lover... chorus... |

Slow down, you move to fast
You got to make the morning last Just kickin' down the cobblestones Lookin' for fun and Feelin' Groovy Hello lamppost what's knowing? I've come to watch your flowers growing Ain't cha got no rhymes for me? Dootin' doo-doo Feelin' Groovy I got no deeds to do No promises to keep I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep Let the morning time drop all its petals on me Life I love you All is Groovy. |

The recent fight in the House of Representatives was over the open housing
section of the Civil Rights Bill. Brought traditional enemies together but it left the defenders of the measure without the votes of their strongest supporters. President Johnson originally proposed an outright ban covering discrimination by everyone for every type of housing but it had no chance from the start and everyone in Congress knew it. A compromise was painfully worked out in the House Judiciary Committee. In Los Angeles today comedian Lenny Bruce died of what was believed to be an overdoes of narcotics. Bruce was 42 years old. Dr. Martin Luther King says he does not intend to cancel plans for an open housing march Sunday into the Chicago suburb of Cicero. Cook County Sheriff Richard Ogleby asked King to call off the march and the police in Cicero said they would ask the National Guard to be called out if it is held. King, now in Atlanta, Georgia, plans to return to Chicago Tuesday. In Chicago Richard Speck, accused murderer of nine student nurses, was brought before a grand jury today for indictment. The nurses were found stabbed and strangled in their Chicago apartment. In Washington the atmosphere was tense today as a special subcommittee of the House Committee on Un-American activities continued its probe into anti- Viet Nam war protests. Demonstrators were forcibly evicted from the hearings when they began chanting anti-war slogans. Former Vice-President Richard Nixon says that unles there is a substantial increase in the present war effort in Viet Nam, the U.S. should look forward to five more years of war. In a speech before the Convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in New York, Nixon also said opposition to the war in this country is the greatest single weapon working against the U.S. That's the 7 o'clock edition of the news, Goodnight. Silent night Holy night All is calm All is bright Round yon virgin mother and child Holy infant so tender and mild Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace. |

Keeping my eyes on the road, I see you.
Keeping my hands on the wheel, I hold you. 99 Miles From L.A., I kiss you, I miss you, please be there. Passing the white sandy beach, we're sailing. Turning the radio on, we're dancing. 99 Miles From L.A., I want you, I need you, please be there. The windshield is covered with rain, I'm cryin'. Pressing my foot on the gas, I'm flyin'. Counting the telephone poles, I phone you. Reading the signs on the road, I write you. 99 Miles From L.A., we're laughing, we're loving, please be there. Counting the telephone poles, I phone you. Time, Time, see what's become of me While I looked around for my possibilities. I was so hard to please. Look around, Leaves are brown, And the sky is a hazy shade of winter. Hear the Salvation Army band. Down by the riverside's Bound to be a better ride Than what you've got planned. Carry your cup in your hand. And look around. Leaves are brown. And the sky is a hazy shade of winter. Hang on to your hopes, my friend. That's an easy thing to say, But if your hopes should pass away Simply pretend that you can build them again. Look around, The grass is high, The fields are ripe, It's the springtime of my life. Seasons change with the scenery; Weaving time in a tapestry. Won't you stop and remember me At any convenient time? Funny how my memory skips Looking over manuscripts Of unpublished rhyme. Drinking my vodka and lime, I look around, Leaves are brown, And the sky is a hazy shade of winter. |

He was a most peculiar man.
That's what Mrs. Riordan said and she should know; She lived upstairs from him She said he was a most peculiar man. He was a most peculiar man. He lived all alone within a house, Within a room, within himself, A most peculiar man. He had no friends, he seldom spoke And no one in turn ever spoke to him, 'Cause he wasn't friendly and he didn't care And he wasn't like them. Oh, no! he was a most peculiar man. He died last Saturday. He turned on the gas and he went to sleep With the windows closed so he'd never wake up To his silent world and his tiny room; And Mrs. Riordan says he has a brother somewhere Who should be notified soon. And all the people said, "What a shame that he's dead, But wasn't he a most peculiar man?" |

The last train is nearly due
The underground is closing soon And in the dark deserted station Restless in anticipation A man waits in the shadows His restless eyes leap and scratch At all that they can touch or catch And hidden deep within his pocket Safe within its silent socket He holds a colored crayon Now from the tunnel's stony womb The carriage rides to meet the groom And open wide and welcome doors But he hesitates, and then withdraws Deeper in the shadows And the train is gone suddenly On wheels clicking silently Like a gently tapping litany And he holds his crayon rosary Tighter in his hand Now from his pocket quick he flashes The crayon on the wall he slashes Deep upon the advertising A single worded poem consisting Of four letters And his heart is laughing, screaming, pounding The poem across the tracks rebounding Shadowed by the exit light His legs take their ascending flight To seek the breast of darkness and be suckled by the night |

The underground is closing soon, And in the dark deserted station, Restless in anticipation, A man waits in the shadows. His restless eyes leap and snatch, At all that they can touch or catch, And hidden deep within his pocket, Safe within its silent socket, He holds a coloured crayon. Now from the tunnel's stony womb, The carriage rides to meet the groom, And opens wide the welcome doors, But he hesitates, then withdraws Deeper in the shadows. And the train is gone suddenly. On wheels clicking silently Like a gently tapping litany, And he holds his crayon rosary Tighter in his hand. Now from his pocket quick he flashes, The crayon on the wall he slashes, Deep upon the advertising, A single-worded poem comprising Four letters. And his heart is laughing, screaming, pounding, The poem across the tracks resounding, Shadowed by the exit light His legs take their ascending flight To seek the breast of darkness and be suckled by the night. |

All my love's faces She comes in the morning Her cloak in her arms She's following after The King of all Places And your tenderest warnin' Could bruise all her charm But don't lose your heart To that beautiful sinner Who walks without shining a light She stands in the shade And the sun is there in her But you'll never know til it's night All my love's softness, All my love's graces She carries all things In her tiny white glove She hides all her lostness In satins and laces And everyone says She's searching for sweet love But don't try to hold on To Satan's proud lady Who stands with her flock all alone on the hill Her stockings are hung And her eyes are so shady She's winning, and you never will. |

from As Good As It Gets (이보다 더 좋을 수는 없다) by Hans Zimmer [ost] (1998)
Always look on the bright side of life, (whistle)
Always look on the bright side of life, (whistle) Some things in life are bad, They can really make you mad, Other things just make you swear and curse. When you're chewing on life's gristle Don't grumbl, give a whistle. And this'll help things turn out for the best. Always look on the bright side of life, (whistle) Always look on the bright side of life, (whistle) If life seems jolly rotten, There's something you've forgotten, And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing. When you're feeling in the dumps, Don't be silly chumps. Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing. So always look on the bright side of death, Just before you draw your terminal breath, Life's a counterfeit When you look at it, Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true. You'll see it's all a show, Keep 'em laughing as you go. Just remember that the last laugh is on you. Always look on the bright side of life, Always look on the bright side of life |

Let us be lovers we'll marry our fortunes together "I've got some real estate here in my bag" So we bought a pack of cigarettes and Mrs. Wagner pies And we walked off to look for America "우리 연인이 되어서 우리의 재산을 합치는 게 어떨까?" "난 가방 안에 돈을 좀 가져왔어." 그래서 우리는 담배 한 보루와 와그너여사 파이를 샀다. 그리고 우리는 미국을 찾아 걸어서 떠났다. "Kathy," I said as we boarded a Greyhound in Pittsburgh "Michigan seems like a dream to me now" It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw I've gone to look for America |

I've got some real estate here in my bag So we bought a pack of cigarettes and Mrs. Wagner's pies And we walked off to look for America Cathy I said as we boarded a Greyhound in Pittsburgh Michigan seems like a dream to me now It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw I've gone to look for America Laughing on the bus playing games with the faces She said the man in the gabardine suit was a spy I said be careful his bowtie is really a camera Toss me a cigaret I think there's one in the raincoat We smoked the last one an hour ago So I looked at the scenary she read her magazine And the moon rose over an open field Cathy I'm lost I said though I knew she was sleeping I'm empty and aching and I don't know why Counting the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike They've all come to look for America All come to look for America |

"I've got some real estate here in my bag" So we bought a pack of cigarettes and Mrs.

Many's the time I've been mistaken, and many times confused
Yes and I've often felt forsaken, and certainly misused Ah but I'm alright, I'm alright, I'm just weary thru my bones Still you don't expect to be bright and bon-vivant So far away from home, so far away from home And I don't know a soul who's not been battered I don't have a friend who feels at ease I don't know a dream that's not been shattered or driven to its knees But it's alright, it's alright, for we live so well, so long Still, when I think of the road we're traveling on I wonder what's gone wrong, I can't help it I wonder what's gone wrong And I dreamed I was dying, I dreamed that my soul rose unexpectedly And looking back down at me, smiled reassuringly And I dreamed I was flying, and high up above my eyes could clearly see The statue of liberty, sailing away to sea, and I dreamed I was flying But we come on a ship they called Mayflower We come on a ship that sailed the moon We come in the ages' most uncertain hours and sing an American tune And it's alright, oh it's alright, it's alright, you can be forever blessed Still tomorrow's gonna be another working day and I'm trying to get some rest That's all I'm trying, to get some rest |

Funny how we're all so blind,
Love is gentle, love is kind in the nighttime. Funny we can be so sad, It doesn't have to be so bad in the daytime. You want to know, where do the songs all go in your lifetime? One of these days we'll go and find out where they stay. Once upon a lover's song, There was a boy who sang along in the nighttime. Once upon a lover's dream, There was a tale of broken wings in the daytime. You want to know, where do the songs all go in your lifetime? One of these days we'll go and find out where they stay. And I Know, love will come someday. And I Know, love will find a way. And I Know, love will come some way. And I Know, love will change your day. The songs that I bring, the songs that I sing yeah. Catch a piece of falling star, Try to keep it in a jar till the morning. Catch a summer firefly, Pray that it'll stay alive till the dawning'. You want to know, where do the songs all go in your lifetime? One of these days we'll go and find out where they stay. And I Know, love will come someday. And I Know, love will find a way. And I Know, love will come some way. And I Know, love will change your day. The songs that I bring, the songs that I sing Love will come some day. And I Know, love will find a way. And I Know, love will come some way. And I Know, love will change your day. And I Know, love will come some day. And I Know, love will find a way. And I Know, love will come some way. And I Know, love will change your day. And I Know |

Close your eyes my pretty child, though the night is dark and the wind is wild.
I will stand beside your bed, tonight there is nothing you need fear or dread. You can sleep now, go to sleep, the rain falls and the windows weep. I'm standing by to sing a lullaby. Close your eyes my sister fair, though the snow is falling and the trees are bare. And I will hold you by the hand, tonight there is nothing you need try to understand. You can sleep now, go to sleep. The daytime's dying and the nighttime's so deep. I'm standing by to sing a lullaby. Close your eyes my mother wise when the waves are angry and the north train cries. I stopped those ghosts outside your door, Mama, don't worry about those ghosts no more. You can sleep now, go to sleep, tomorrow comes but it will keep, I'm standing by to sing a lullaby, another lullaby, another lullaby, another lullaby. |

I thought my searchin' was done when I found you.
So sure that you were the one it was all leading to. I can't believe that you're walking away Now no other will do. You say, to give it time, that I will see, That you are only doing what is best for me But I say that my chances now can only be None to none of finding another only one. I would so love to believe, it's best for you to go, Right now, I could use anything to soften the blow. I can't deny what I know to be to be true, What you want for me, I just can't be for you. You say, to give it time, that I will see, That you are only doing what is best for me But I say that my chances now can only be None to none of finding another only one. Some people never get as far as finding their only true one. And would they ever go so far as far to say I am lucky. I don't feel so lucky tonight.... tonight... tonight... You say, to give it time, that I will see, That you are only doing what is best for me But I say that my chances now can only be None to none of finding another only one. Finding another only one. |

Baby mine, don't you cry
Baby mine, dry your eyes Rest your head close to my heart Never to part, baby of mine Little one, when you play Pay no mind to what they say Let your eyes sparkle and shine Never a tear, baby of mine If they knew all about you They'd end up loving you too All those same people who scold you What they'd give for just the right to hold you And if they knew all about you They'd end up loving you too All those same people who scold you What they'd give for just the right to hold you From your head to your toes You're not much, heaven knows But you're so precious to me Sweet as an be, baby of mine You're so precious to me, baby of mine Baby of mine You're so precious to me, baby of mine |

from Art Garfunkel - Angel Clare (1999)
All in the merry month of May,
When green buds all are swellin'. Sweet William on his deathbed lay for love of Barbara Allen. He sent his servant to the town, The place where she did dwell in. Saying, 'Master dear has sent me here if your name be Barbara Allen.' Then slowly, slowly she got up and slowly she went to him, And all she said when there she came was, 'Young man, I think you're dying. 'Don't you remember the other night when we were in the tavern? You drank a toast to the ladies there and slighted Barbara Allen.' He turned his face unto the wall, He turned his back upon her. 'Adieu, adieu, to all my friends. And be kind, be kind to Barbara Allen.' As she was wandering on the fields she heard the death bell knellin'. And every note, it seemed to say, 'Hard-hearted Barbara Allen!' The more it tolled the more she grieved, She bursted out a-crying. 'Oh, pick me up and carry me home. I fear that I am dying.' They buried Willy in the old church yard and Barbara in the new one, And from William's grave, there grew a rose, from Barbara's, a green briar. They grew and grew in the old church yard, Till they could grow no higher, And there they tied in a true lover's knot, The red rose and the briar. |

Lost again.
I see it in your eyes you feel alone again. I made it just in time to break your fall again. You thought you'd come so far, but here we are again. Down again. I see it on your face the hope is gone just when, You thought the pieces fit, but you fell apart again. And as I was before, here I am again. But if you could see Beyond The Tears, You'd know love won't desert you. To see beyond the tears, you know I'll never hurt you. To see the sun behind the rain, feel the joy behind the pain. You know you'll see me standin' right beyond the tears Once again, I see it in your look, you're feelin' lost again. And now you are afraid to try your love again, 'Cause this lonely moment feels like the end. But if you could see Beyond The Tears You'd know love won't desert you. To see beyond the tears, you know I'll never hurt you. To see the sun behind the rain, feel the joy behind the pain. You know you'll see me standin' right beyond the tears. When alone turns to lonely, and loneliness to fear, It's so easy to imagine love will disappear, But love is always here. If you could see Beyond The Tears, You'd know love won't desert you. To see beyond the tears, you know I'll never hurt you. To see the sun behind the rain, feel the joy behind the pain. You know you'll see me standin' right beyond the tears See me standin' right Beyond The Tears, See me standin' right Beyond The Tears, Right Beyond The Tears. |

Fog's rollin' in off the East River bank
Like a shroud it covers Bleecker Street Fills the alleys where men sleep Hides the shepherd from the sheep Voices leaking from a sad cafe Smiling faces try to understand I saw a shadow touch a shadow's hand On Bleecker Street A poet reads his crooked rhyme Holy, holy is his sacrament Thirty dollars pays your rent On Bleecker Street I head a church bell softly chime In a melody sustainin' It's a long road to Caanan On Bleecker Street Bleecker Street |

Blessed are the meek
for they shall in herit Blessed is the lamb whose blood flows Blessed are the sat upon spat upon ratted on O Lord why have you forsaken me I got no place to go I've walked around So ho for the last night or so Ah but it doesn't matter no Blessed is the land and the kingdom Blessed is the man whose soul belongs to Blessed are the meth drinkers pot sellers illusion dwellers O Lord why have you forsaken me My words trickle down from a wound That I have no intention to heal Blessed are the stained glass window pane glass Blessed is the church service makes me nervous Blessed are the penny rookers cheap hookers groovy lookers O Lord why have you forsaken me I have tended my own garden much too long |

Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit.
Blessed is the lamb whose blood flows. Blessed are the sat upon, Spat upon, Ratted on, O Lord, Why have you forsaken me? I got no place to go, I've walked around Soho for the last night or so. Ah, but it doesn't matter, no. Blessed is the land and the kingdom. Blessed is the man whose soul belongs to. Blessed are the meth drinkers, Pot sellers, Illusion dwellers. O Lord, Why have you forsaken me? My words trickle down, like a wound That I have no intention to heal. Blessed are the stained glass, window pane glass. Blessed is the church service makes me nervous Blessed are the penny rookers, Cheap hookers, Groovy lookers. O Lord, Why have you forsaken me? I have tended my own garden Much too long. |

Spin that wheel
Just let go Where she falls Nobody knows Save your breath Let those snake eye roll We bounce between the devil and the deep blue sea We bounce between forever and what may never be Let the light of love keep bouncing off the diamond in the darker side of me I never had no education Just an articulation of the heart But burning deep inside me there is a diamond in the dark Catch that flame Let it warm your soul Love's cruel game Is the great unknown All that fear Do you know you're not alone We bounce between the devil and the deep blue sea We bounce between forever and what may never be We bounce between decisions, destinations constantly Let the light of love keep bouncing off the diamond in the darker side of me I never had no education Just on inarticulation of the heart But burning deep inside me there is a diamond in the dark A shine, a flash and then it's over A lightning strike, a chance remark Am I the only one here like a diamond in the dark Like a diamond in the dark. |
