자신 있게 말하건데 Joe Pernice는 현재 지구상에서 가장 훌륭한 멜로디 메이커이자 팝/록씬에서 가장 아름다운 목소리를 가진 보컬 가운데 한 명입니다. 이 사람은 지금 얻고 있는 인기와 명성의 200배는 족히 누릴만한 자격이 있습니다. 최소한 2001년의 [The World Won't End] 부터만이라도 그래야 했습니다. 하지만 그렇지 못했죠. 물론 그 앨범은 그가 작업했던 이전의 어떤 앨범보다 많이 팔렸지만 그것으로는 충분하지 않습니다. 90년대 초중반 이른바 얼터-컨트리의 선구자들 중 누군가는 잊혀졌고, 누군가는 영웅이 되어있는 지금, 그는 자신이 늘 있던 그 자리에 여전히 머무르며 아름다운 팝을 세상에 흘려보내고 있습니다. 이제 21세기 벽두에 가장 부지런한 뮤지션 중 한명이었던 그가 2년만에...
