2000 년 12 월 김 동현 과 김명훈 은 스킨헤드 Oi 밴드를 결성하기로 의기투합하고 드러머를 찾던 중 당시 Geeks 에서 드럼을 치고 있던 박중욱을 영입하여 3 인조 Oi 밴드 Captain Bootbois 를 시작하였다. 2001 년 1 월 첫 공연을 시작으로 활발한 활동을 하던 중 2002 년 8 월 박중욱이 군대를 가게 되었다 . 새로운 드러머를 물색하던 중 13 Steps 의 조진만 을 세션으로 영입하게 되고 다시 활동을 재개하였다 .
2003 년 1 월 2 번째 데모를 발매하면서 Rux 의 베이스를 맞고 있던 이주현 이 기타로 새롭게 가입을 하면서 4 인조로 활동을 시작하였고 , 기존의 3 인조였을때에 비해 폭넓고 발전적인 사운드를 구사하게 되었다 . 2003 년 초 Italy 레이블인 Brutus 레코드의 컴필레이션 『 Loud N Proud 』에 참여할 두 곡 ‘Way of Life' 와 ‘Our time will come' 을 녹음하면서 기존의 Oi 사운드에서 보다 강력하고 웅장한 Captain Bootbois 만의 사운드로의 발전을 이루게 된다 . 2003 년 8 월 첫 Full-Length 를 녹음하던 중 김동현 이 군대에 입대함으로써 2 년간 잠정적인 활동을 중단하게 되었지만 김동현 의 휴가를 이용하여 간간히 공연을 하였고 2005 년 5 월에는 첫 앨범 발매 공연을 하게 되었다 .
2005 년 8 월 김동현 이 제대를 하면서 활동을 재개하였으나 , 다른 멤버들의 Business, 군대 문제 등으로 인하여 모든 멤버가 교체 되었다 . 평소 친분이 있던 최창원 , 염준규 , 오은정 을 새로이 영입한 Captain Bootbois 는 다시 꾸준한 활동을 시작하였고 , 2005 년 11 월에는 한 - 일 Oi Festival 참가를 통하여 첫 일본 공연을 성공리에 마치고 돌아왔다 .
2006 년 12 월을 끝으로 학업에 뜻을 둔 오은정 이 탈퇴를 함으로써 현재 ‘ 배다른 형제 ' 에서 드럼을 치고 있는 이동훈 을 세션으로 영입하여 더 멋진 사운드를 위하여 나아가고 있다 .
